Quiet Exits Can Be Disruptive

Quiet Exits can be disruptive!

As you quietly exit spaces without explanation, there's a disruption because it seems out of the blue, but it wasn't.

God had been shaking the table for quite some time as you kept ignoring it. You kept entering time after time that space that was no longer for you. Each time you heard the keys telling you it was time to leave before you get to the point where it felt like you have to flee.

The bright red exit sign flashed above. First, it was dim and then gets brighter and brighter until it turns into a bright red flashing alarm.

Yet, you still stay. Through the shaking keys. The exit sign with the bright red sign turned blaring alarm. Kicking yourself because there's also an internal battle. That check in your spirit, but people. What will they say? What will they think? Do I address it? How can you explain the why when you fully don't know? Except that it is time to go.

The whispers. The rumors. The gossip. The lies. The false narratives. What is thought to be true turned out to be what is thought to be haha "we knew"...that's our confirmation!

The unfolding of the story was not even fully known by the actual participants.

I've witnessed it play out for others before. You already know how it'll go. You tried to speak up but were shut down so you leave quietly while disrupting the pattern and the flow. Heartbroken because you knew it was time to go miles back but you didn't. No goodbyes. No hugs. Just hands shaking and sobbing cries. More disruption mixed with mourning. Relationships severed.

You can see it play out in your head shaking and pointing fingers, "God didn't tell you to do that" or "You were influenced".

A bucket of emotions mixed with tears. You leave. Then the glimmer of sunlight. Turning bright.

The truth was that this was a decision in the boardroom of just two. No one knew until it was through. The shock for many and relief, though disruptive, for me.

This scenario has played out like this on more than one occasion in my life. I've been a recipient of being left disrupted, as well.

Quiet Exits can be disruptive!

Don't ignore the internal checks.

Don't ignore the red exit sign.

Don't ignore the shaking keys.

Exiting without explanation is never easy. Even though Holy Spirit is saying leave. Yes, exactly that way. You will be called rebellious. You will be seen as under the " influence". You will be seen and called many things, but at this moment in time, you will not be seen or called in his eyes as disobedient to the call.

We ought to obey God rather than man. God is not the author of confusion. As Scripture says.

Confusion a lot of times comes when we're ignoring God in favor of man. Or fear of men. In favor or fear of disrupting protocols and traditions built by men. In fear of breaking rank and producing dishonor. In fear of producing disappointment. None of it can be avoided because a disruptive pass the appointed time exit produces all of that.

All the time with all parties involved. After reflection. We dishonored God. In our ego and pride. Thinking we know what we really don't know. Fearing the unknown. Not obeying and staying when we know we really should go.
