No, this does not mean you are not given to doormat behavior. You have a heart to guard from the issues of life. 

The effects of Misery loves company

A heart filled perpetually with resentment, pain, and offenses, develops a different kind of heart. 

Instead of everything that person touches in the pureness of love, it is like a spreading of poison. 

Even if not intentional. How do they not know? Self-delusion. 

It's not that they won't see the Lord, they CAN'T because of the blindness from the effects of the poison of bitterness. 

Without their apology, forgive

Without their remorse, forgive

Without their understanding or care of what they did, forgive 

I know, it is not easy. Yet, it is possible. 

What if the thing that is causing bitterness is an ongoing situation and not a person? 

Although you may FEEL powerless, you are powerFUL(L). 

You have the power to control the inner you. How you perceive, in the midst of. You are the co-director of your story. 

Our pastor says, "When you change how you look at things, the things you look at change." 

It is possible to be at peace in the storm because we know the storm has an expiration date. 

‭Hebrews 12:14-15 TPT‬

[14] In every relationship be swift to choose peace over competition, and run swiftly toward holiness, for those who are not holy will not see the Lord. [15] Watch over each other to make sure that no one misses the revelation of God’s grace. And make sure no one lives with a root of bitterness sprouting within them which will only cause trouble and poison the hearts of many.
